Srinagar, March 01 (KNO) : Following Ministry of Home Affairs order of declaring Jamat e Islami Jammu and Kashmir as ‘unlawful organisation’ police is conducting raids, detaining its members and sealing their residences as well, while deputy commissioners of Srinagar, Bandipora and Kulgam have order seizing the property of the organization. According to reports reaching KNO police raided residences of various Jamat members including former chief of JeI GM Bhat in Bemina as well. Local sources told KNO that houses of at least three members have been sealed.”Two houses of JeI members were sealed and the families were asked to leave the premises in Barzulla area, " a resident of the locality said. Locals of Saidpora Harwan also claimed that police raided the residence of another Jamat member and sealed his house as well.Reports said that at least six JeI activists were detained in various villages of Tral. They said that they were detained from Laribal, Pinglish, Dardsara, Panner, Mandoora and Lurgam villages of Tral last night. ”A family in Barzulla resisted the sealing of their house after which the police party left the place, " locals at Barzulla said. Jamat e Islami, on Thursday was declared an unlawful organisation by MHA saying that they are trying to carve out an Islamic state out of government established by law, and were accused of being secessionist and not accepting States accession with Union of India among other charges. The ban will remain imposed for five years, MHA had said, in its order."Former. Ameer e Zilla Kishtwar Dr. Iqbal Malik was also arrested on Friday evening,’ sources said. DC Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, deputy commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary, and DC Kulgam Shamim Ahmad Wani, issued order to seize the property of the organisation. The order issued order police for seizure of all immovable properties including premises, offices, buildings, institutions and all movable properties including items, vehicles, equipments, bank accounts, etc of JeI.(KNO)
